Putting AI to Work

Using AI tools in your everyday work

For people who opened ChatGPT and thought "…and now what?". Over three sessions we take a real task from your own job and solve it end to end with AI — and learn where it cannot be trusted.

What you end up with

By the end of the workshop you can do these

  • See concretely what separates a good prompt from a bad one
  • Turn a long document, a meeting recording or a spreadsheet into something useful
  • Break your own repetitive task into steps and hand it over to AI
  • Catch the model when it makes things up: build a verification habit
  • Stop and think before pasting company data — privacy and data protection
  • Know which tool to reach for, for which job
Programme

What we cover, session by session

Session 1 How does this thing "think"?

90 min

  • What a language model does and does not do — without the hype
  • Anatomy of a prompt: context, role, example, format
  • Running the same task through three different prompts and measuring the difference
  • Homework: bring a task from your own work
Session 2 Connecting real work

90 min

  • Working with documents and spreadsheets: summarising, extracting, classifying
  • Breaking long work into steps — one prompt does not do it, and should not
  • Fitting output to a template so it can be reused
  • Homework: solve your own task end to end
Session 3 Where it cannot be trusted

90 min

  • What a hallucination looks like and how to catch one
  • The verification habit: never use a sentence without a source
  • Privacy: what you do not paste, and what changes legally
  • Building your own toolkit and keeping it current

Who is teaching you this?

Gizem Güney

Gizem Güney Software developer

  • Her TÜBİTAK-backed capstone project was approved: a sub-system that DETECTS AI-generated content — she does not only use the tools, she works on telling their output apart.
  • She built the analyst interface of a platform that compares AI model outputs — she saw from the inside how those outputs get judged.
  • She wrote the scheduling and integration layer of a content system where several AIs work together; here "agent" is a running system, not a slide.
  • On "Gizem Soruyor" she interviews the people who build these tools; the order taught in the workshop came out of those conversations.

Who is this workshop for?

It suits you if…

  • You have heard of AI tools, opened them, but never connected them to your work
  • You want to shorten repetitive work: reports, presentations, email, spreadsheets
  • You need to answer your team’s question: "how do we actually use this?"

It does not suit you if…

  • You want to train models or do fine-tuning
  • You want to learn to write code with AI — that is the "Your First App with AI" workshop
  • You are looking for a ready-made "prompt pack"; this workshop teaches method
If this is the wrong door

Then it is probably one of these two

The three workshops do not compete with each other; they answer different questions. If you read this page and thought "not for me", here is where to go instead.
